I got offered a job last week as a gymnastics coach here in Utah! At first, I was so excited! I was a gymnast for about 19 years of my life. Then I taught gymnastics for about 13 years. I LOVE gymnastics! It’s a big part of who I am.
A few days after I got offered the job, I launched my second online video program for moms called, “Reignite Your Life.” Right now I’m in the testing in phase, and 15 moms are watching the videos for free before I launch the paid program.
Part of the video program talks about deciding what adds to our stress and what lowers our stress. Sometimes, we just do things in life that just make us busy to be busy! We don’t think about WHY we are doing them or if they are in line with our priorities and goals.
I created this program because I kept getting the same answer from moms when I asked how they were doing. They said, “busy” or “hanging in there.” They didn’t seem happy when they answered either! They seemed stressed and overwhelmed!
I’ve been working on lowering my stress personally a lot the past 18 months. I don’t want to live life rushing through it being busy and “hanging in there!” That’s not a good way to live! Life is meant to be enjoyed, not just surviving!
My goal is to be a calm, peaceful, energetic mom. This is not easy when we have little kids!
So, I decided not to take the job as a gymnastics coach. As much as I’d like to take the job, it will just add to my stress right now.
I did commit to being a substitute though! It was too hard to give it up completely.
Our youngest just started preschool on Monday, and I’d like to use my time to do these things I’ve put on the back burner.
– Completing two nutrition certifications to serve my clients better.
– Expanding my online health and fitness business to help more people in the USA, Canada and the UK.
– Starting my own podcast in October 2019.
– Writing a book (in the next two years).
I’ve been offered jobs in the past seven and a half years since I started my online business that I’ve turned down because it wasn’t the right time or it wasn’t aligned with my goals.
My biggest goal over the past seven and a half years since I started my online business and left my job as a Public Relations Director has been to make a positive difference in other mom’s lives, be present with our family, and have freedom of time to travel, and serve in the community.
I’m grateful for the freedom of running an online business. It’s not the easiest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s been an incredible experience that has stretched me and helped me to grow.
So, next time an opportunity comes your way, take time to think about WHY you are saying, “yes” to it. Is it just going to add to your already busy schedule or is it really the right opportunity for you?
And, if you haven’t already signed up for my Reignite Your Life program, go here to get it for FREE before it goes into the official launch (it won’t be free).
I’m excited to start writing more blog posts! I’ll be writing one post everyday in September, and those posts will be topics for my podcasts.
I’d love to hear from you! What topics would you like me to cover?
