Three years went by fast!
Three years ago we moved from Arizona to California for my husband’s summer internship. We stopped by Disneyland on the way to California to celebrate his graduation! We were so excited to be finished with his MBA! That’s where this picture was taken.

We left most of our things in Utah (furniture and big things) when we moved to Arizona, and then we left the rest of our things in Arizona when we moved for the internship. All we had was our clothes, dishes and us. 🙂

We Didn’t Plan on Staying in California

The internship was 10 weeks long, and they told us my husband probably wouldn’t have a job in California so we got a furnished apartment and took a few things that we could fit in our cars.

I was sad to leave Arizona! I loved my friends there, and it was nice having family close by. We lived there less than two years, but it started to feel like home, and I loved the people that we met there.

It was hard to let go and move forward. There were so many unknowns. We didn’t know which state we’d be living in after the 10 week internship, we didn’t know if my husband would have a job for sure, and we didn’t know where our oldest would be going to school.

I’m a planner, and this was SOO hard for me to let go and leave it in God’s hands. I’m not very good at going on unknown adventures! This put me way out of my comfort zone! 🙂

Feeling Grateful for our Back up Plan

Meanwhile, I built our health and fitness business in Arizona during the two years we were there. It was good that we had a back up plan to support our family. I was grateful for that!

We found out on the NINETH week of 10 that they opened a position for my husband in the California office. It was a huge relief to find out he got a job! We were so excited!

The bad news was that it wasn’t supposed to start for another year! Most of the interns had a year left of school to finish so they didn’t offer the jobs right away. My husband only had one class so he could start sooner.

Luckily, they let us start in January 2015 instead of waiting the full year.

We still had to wait 4 1/2 months until the job started, but that was better than a year. 🙂

So we ended up moving back to Arizona for 4 1/2 months and living solely off of the income from our online health and fitness business. It was great to be back in Arizona with our friends, team members and family. We were grateful we had a full-time income coming in while we were waiting for my husband’s business to start.

We’ve Come a Long Way in Three Years!

We’ve come a long way in the past three years! We ended up moving back to California in January 2015 for my husband’s new job, we had another baby and bought our first house! We were so excited to get out of apartments.

Now my husband is able to pay for the basic bills, and I get to pay for the fun things like trips, clothes, dance classes, etc.
