We were asked to give up social media for 10 days. At first, I thought, well, I can’t do that! I run my online fitness business on social media. I can’t give it up for 10 days.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized I needed to do it.

It’s been about 7 days now since I took the challenge, and I love it so far!

I’ve spent more time:

– With our kids
– Having fun with friends
– Getting out of the house
– Going on walks
– Hiking
– Learning a new language (I just started)
– Trying a new fitness class
– Organizing an obstacle race in our community
– Joining a nonprofit
– Attending more mom’s clubs activities
– Doing 5:30 a.m. workouts
– Watching the sunset
– And overall loving life more!

I’m definitely going to be using my time differently after this challenge is over. I want to spend more time in our community.

What would you do if you took a 10 day break from social media?

Shannon Golladay is a former competitive gymnast. She was also a dancer, runner, and a cheerleader who wanted her body back after she had kids. She found herself tired, overweight and wishing she had her body back after her first baby was born. She found a way to not just lose the weight, but also gain energy, and get toned by doing workouts and following simple meal plans at home. In December 2011, she decided to pay it forward and help other former athletes get their bodies back. She loves helping women live life with energy, purpose and drive again!
